In this guide, we will walk through five key general settings available in the Kitchen display application. These settings help control how orders and items are displayed on the kitchen screen, making it easier for the kitchen team to read, prioritize, and manage orders efficiently during busy hours.
Group items for an order
Hide all cooked orders
Hide all cooked items
Always show re-order in first position
Always show new order in first position
In order to manage these general settings, open the Grafterr Kitchen Display application and log in with your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the top-right corner of the screen and click on the "Settings icon" to access the options. Inside the settings, locate all these options on the right side.
You can enable or disable each setting based on how you want orders and items to appear on the kitchen display. Once the required settings are enabled or disabled, the changes will take effect immediately on the kitchen screen.
Grouping items for an order:
When this option is enabled, identical items ordered multiple times are grouped together and displayed as a single line item with a quantity count.
For example, if a customer orders the same burger five times, it will appear as Burger × 5 instead of showing the burger five separate times. This helps reduce screen clutter and improves readability.
However, this grouping works only when the items and modifiers (if any) are exactly the same. If the same item is ordered with different modifiers, such as different add-ons or customizations, the items will be displayed separately.
Hide all cooked items:
The next setting is hiding all cooked items. When enabled, individual items that are marked as cooked will automatically disappear from the kitchen screen.
This helps the kitchen team focus only on items that are still pending preparation. If this option is disabled, cooked items will continue to remain visible on the screen.
Hide all cooked orders:
Similarly, the hiding all cooked orders setting controls the visibility of entire orders.
When enabled, once all items in an order are marked as cooked, the complete order will be removed from the screen. If disabled, the cooked orders will still be visible, allowing staff to review completed orders if needed.
Always show re-order in first position:
The always show re-order in first position setting ensures that any re-orders placed by customers appear at the top of the kitchen screen. This helps the kitchen staff quickly notice repeat orders and act on them without delay.
Always show new order in first position:
Lastly, the always show new order in first position setting prioritizes freshly placed orders by displaying them at the top of the screen as soon as they arrive.
If this option is disabled, new orders will be positioned based on the order time, preparation time, and expected completion time instead of being forced to the top.
That’s it! You have now successfully learned how to manage all key general settings in the Grafterr Kitchen Display application. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
