Display settings and display orders style play a crucial role in how orders are presented to the kitchen staff.
Display settings control how items within an order are shown - either as normal order placed by the customer or prioritised based on course types. This helps the kitchen team clearly understand what needs to be prepared first and what can be prepared later.
Display orders style, on the other hand, defines how orders are arranged on the screen, ensuring better visibility and smoother kitchen operations based on screen size and order volume.
Managing display settings and display orders style:
In order to manage display settings and display orders style through the Grafterr Kitchen display application, follow the steps below:
Start by opening the application and logging in with your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the top-right corner of the screen and click on the "Settings icon" to access the options.
Within the general settings, locate "Display Settings" on the top-left. Here, you will find two options in the dropdown - "Default" and "Priority Cooking".
When default is selected, items are displayed in the same sequence as they were ordered by the customer. This view is suitable for kitchens that prepare items as they come without a specific serving order.
When priority cooking is selected, items are displayed based on their course types, helping the kitchen staff identify which items should be prepared and served first (such as starters), followed by main courses and desserts.
Just below the display settings, you will find "Display Orders Style". This option determines how orders are arranged visually on the Kitchen Display screen. You will see two options in the dropdown - "Flexible" and "Single order per column".
You will also find the number of columns display setting. By increasing or decreasing the number of columns here, you can control how many orders appear side by side on the screen with a maximum limit of 6 columns.
When single order per column is selected, only one order is displayed per column. If more orders arrive, the kitchen staff will need to scroll horizontally to view additional orders, offering a more focused view of each order.
When flexible is selected, multiple orders are adjusted dynamically and displayed one below the other, allowing more orders to fit on a single screen without excessive scrolling. This is ideal for high-volume kitchens.
That’s it! You have successfully learned how to manage display settings and display orders style in the Grafterr Kitchen display application. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
