How to manage kitchen messages and kitchen instructions

A step-by-step guide to managing kitchen messages and kitchen instructions in the Grafterr Operator application

Updated over a month ago

Before we dive into the options, let’s look into the basic difference between the two:

  • Kitchen messages are general messages that an operator sends to the kitchen staff (e.g., Hurry up to the main counter / Check stock of all ingredients etc).

  • Kitchen instructions, on the other hand, are item-specific instructions that an operator sends to the chef while placing an order (e.g., Less spicy / Extra cheese / No onions etc).

Managing kitchen messages:

In order to manage kitchen messages through the Operator application, follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your Grafterr Operator application. On the left-hand side of the main screen, you will find the option “Kitchen Messages”.

  • Click on it, and the system will prompt you to select which kitchen you want to send the message to. Once the kitchen is selected, you will see two options:

    • Choose from a list of default pre-set kitchen messages, or

    • Type your own custom kitchen message in the text box provided.

  • After typing or selecting the message, click “Send”. The message will immediately appear on the kitchen display application for the staff to view.
