The upcoming orders filter helps the kitchen team clearly separate immediate orders from pre-orders scheduled for a later time.
By default, all orders appear under the orders tab on the kitchen display screen. However, when pre-orders for later in the day or future dates are shown alongside current orders, it can create confusion for chefs and kitchen staff.
The upcoming orders filter solves this by allowing you to define a time window. Pre-orders will remain under the pre-orders tab and will only move to the orders tab when their preparation time is approaching, ensuring that the kitchen focuses only on what needs to be prepared immediately.
Managing upcoming orders filter:
In order to manage pre-orders using upcoming orders filter in Grafterr Kitchen display application, follow the steps below:
Start by opening the application and logging in with your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the top-right corner of the screen and click on the "Settings icon" to access the options.
In the general settings, locate "Upcoming Orders Filter" on the left-hand side and enable the option to activate this feature.
After enabling it, you will be prompted to enter a time value in minutes. This value defines how early an order should appear on the main orders screen before its scheduled preparation time.
Once the minutes are set, all pre-orders that are scheduled beyond this time window will automatically be hidden from the orders screen and will remain visible only under the preorders tab.
As soon as a pre-order reaches the defined time threshold - for example, 15 or 30 minutes before preparation - it will automatically move to the orders tab. This ensures that pre-orders are displayed only when they are actually due for preparation, reducing clutter and preventing confusion in the kitchen.
That’s it! You have successfully learned how to manage pre-orders using the upcoming orders filter in the Grafterr Kitchen display application. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
