A mix & match is a flexible promotional deal that allows customers to combine different products to qualify for discounts or free items. Think of them as enhanced versions of traditional “Any 3 Drinks for £10” or "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" offers, but with much more versatility.
For instance, you might create a promotion where customers buy any two pizzas and receive a free drink, or purchase three appetizers and get the lowest-priced one at no charge.
Navigating to existing deals:
In order to navigate to all of your existing mix & match deals, follow the steps below:
Login to your Grafterr Admin Panel through the Grafterr website. And once you are logged in, look at the menu on the left side of the screen. Look for "Menu Management" by scrolling down through these sections.
Next, click on "Menu Configuration" under it, and you will see all your existing menus, categories, and food items.
On the right side of your screen, find "Existing Deals" and click on "Mix & Match" underneath it. This shows you all the mix & match offers you've created before. You can edit or delete these deals using the action buttons. There are also search filters to help you quickly find specific promotions by name.
Creating a new mix & match deal:
In order to create a new mix & match deal through the Admin Panel, follow the below steps:
Start by giving the offer a name that customers will see. Then choose which promotion offer type, menu and category this deal belongs to.
Then add a short name for your own reference. Include a product code if you use them, and set the deal price customers will pay. You can also upload a picture of the deal to make it more appealing.
There's a toggle called "Show in deals" at the top-right corner.
When it's turned ON, customers will see this deal in the “Deals” section on your website & mobile ordering site. When it's turned OFF, the deal won't appear in that section.
Building your mix & match structure:
This is where you define the rules for your buy & get (mix & match) promotional deal.
First, start by specifying the number of items a customer needs to purchase to be eligible for the offer.
Enter this quantity under the “Buy Any” field (e.g., 1 or 2).
Next, choose the item category from which the customer must select these items. This defines the base requirement for the offer to become active.
Once the "Buy" condition is completed, move on to the “Get Any” section. Here, you must enter the number of items the customer will receive once the condition is met. Again, select the item category from which these eligible items can be chosen from.
Now, set how the discount should be applied under the “Reduced By” setting. You can choose from either:
Percentage Discount (e.g., get 50% off)
Fixed Amount Discount (e.g., get £5 off)
Free Item (get it completely free)
Lastly, there are two toggles that help you control how the discount is applied in mix & match promotional deal:
"Apply Discount for Low Priced Items" - this determines if the discount should apply on less expensive items when calculating discounts.
Second, you'll decide on "Apply Discount for Modifiers," which controls whether additional items like extra toppings should receive the promotional discount. Selecting "No" for modifiers ensures that customers still pay standard prices for any additions to their orders.
Note :
If you choose the “Apply Discount for Low Priced Items” option while setting up a promotion, the item selection process will happen on a single screen.
This is because the discount will automatically be applied to the item with the lowest price. For example, in a regular “Buy 1 Get 1 at 50% OFF” offer, customers typically see two screens—one to select the item they are buying and another to choose the item they get at a discount.
But when the “Apply Discount for Low Priced Items” setting is enabled, both items will be selected together on one screen, and the 50% discount will be applied to the cheaper item automatically.
Setting deal availablility:
The availability settings control when customers can order your deal.
Choose if the deal should be "Active" (customers can see it) or "Inactive" (hidden from customers). You can switch between these without deleting it.
Next, pick which services can offer this deal. You might have eat-in, delivery, and takeaway options. Check the boxes for the services where you want this deal to be available.
You can also choose when the deal would be available. Pick "All days" if you want it available whenever you are open. Choose "Specific days" to set particular time, dates, or days of the week when the deal should work.
Refreshing the Operator application and testing your deal:
The final step is to refresh your Operator application to see the updates working.
Open the Grafterr Operator application, go to the “Extras” section, and scroll down to find "Refresh App." Then find your mix and match promotional deal and test it to make sure everything works well.
That’s it! You have now successfully learnt how to create and manage mix & match promotional deals through the Grafterr Admin Panel. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
