How to add a mix & match deal (Grafterr POS)

A step-by-step guide to adding a mix & match deal in Grafterr POS

Updated over a month ago

A mix & match is a flexible promotional deal that allows customers to combine different products to qualify for discounts or free items. Think of them as enhanced versions of traditional “Any 3 Drinks for £10” or "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" offers, but with much more versatility.

Adding a mix & match deal through the Grafterr POS application:

In order to add a mix & match deal through the Grafterr POS application, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Grafterr POS application and log in with your credentials. Once you are logged in, you will land on the home page of the application.

  2. Scroll down to locate the module called “Menu management”. Under this module, click on “Add/Edit menu”. Here, you will see a list of all your existing menus, along with their categories, items, and prices.

  3. At the bottom of the screen, find and tap on “More options”. Under more options, in the “Deals” section, click on “Mix & match”. You will now be redirected to the mix & match deals page, where all existing mix & match deals are listed along with their status, discounts, availability and options to edit or delete them. You can also use filters at the top of the screen (by active or inactive status) to search for deals.

  4. To create a new mix & match deal, tap on the “Add mix and match” button at the bottom of the screen. Start by uploading an image using the camera or gallery.

  5. Then enter the offer title (e.g., “Buy 2 Appeteziers Get 1 Drink Free,” or “Get 3 Drink at 30% Flat OFF,” etc.). Select the menu and category that this deal belongs to.

  6. Adding offer setting - To define the rules for your mix & match deal. In order to add offer setting to the deal, click on “Create offer.”

    1. Start by specifying the number of items a customer needs to purchase to be eligible for the offer.

      1. Enter this quantity under the “Buy” field (e.g., 1 or 2).

      2. Next, click on "Search & add" to choose the item / category / item group from which the customer must select these items. This defines the base requirement for the offer to become active.

    2. Once the "Buy" condition is completed, move on to the “Get” section.

      1. Here, you must enter the number of items the customer will receive once the condition is met.

      2. Again, choose the item / category / item group from which these eligible items can be chosen from.

    3. Now once the buy and get conditions are done, set how the discount should be applied under the “For” setting. You can choose from either:

      1. Reduced percentage discount (e.g., get 50% off)

      2. Fixed amount discount (e.g., get £5 off)

      3. Free item (get it completely free)

    4. Lastly, there are two toggles that help you control how the discount is applied in mix & match promotional deal:

      • "Apply discount for low priced items" - this determines if the discount should apply on less expensive items when calculating discounts.

      • Second, you'll decide on "Apply discount for modifiers," which controls whether additional items like extra toppings should receive the promotional discount.

      • Selecting "No" for modifiers ensures that customers still pay standard prices for any additions to their orders.

      • Once all the details are entered, click on “Add.”

  7. Next choose which services this deal applies to - for example, whether it’s available only for eat-in, takeaway, or delivery. Click “Submit” once selected.

  8. You can also choose when the deal would be available. Pick "All days" if you want it available whenever you're open. Choose "Specific days" to set particular time, dates, or days of the week when the deal should work.

  9. You can also enter a Deal Number (used for sorting and ordering) and a Label (a short display name for quick identification).

  10. And once all the details are entered and reviewed, click on “Add” to save the mix & match deal. The newly created mix & match deal will now appear in your list of active deals.

  11. If you need to modify an existing deal, simply click the “Edit” icon. To deactivate a deal, tap on the “Active” toggle - this will mark the deal as inactive.

  12. You can also use the “Show in Deals” toggle to decide whether this meal deal should appear in the online ordering section under “Deals.”
