In the Grafterr Operator application, there are three different actions related to handling mistakes or changes in orders: removing an item, voiding an item, and cancelling an order. While these may sound similar, each serves a different purpose.
Removing an Item:
This is used when items have been added to the cart but the order has not yet been placed. For example, if a customer is still deciding and asks you to remove something from the cart before confirming the order, you can simply remove that item.
Item void:
This comes into play once an order has already been placed and then the customer changes their mind about one or more items. In this situation, the order is already registered in the system, so removing the item directly is not possible. Instead, you void the item.
Voiding ensures that the item is taken off the order while still leaving a record that it was originally ordered but later cancelled.
Order cancellation:
Unlike the first two options, which apply to individual items, this action cancels the entire order regardless of how many items it contains.
This might be used in cases where a customer decides not to go ahead with the order.
Performing item void, item removal, and order cancellation:
To perform these actions in the Grafterr Operator Application, you can follow these steps:
First, add an item to the cart. While the item is still in the cart and not ordered yet, you will see the option to “Remove" the Item.
Next, if you want to see how voiding works, go to the orders section at the top right of the screen and select an order that has already been placed.
When you click on the order and choose “Add More”, the existing items will return to the cart, but now they will show as already ordered. For these items, you will see the “Void” option instead of remove.
Lastly, to cancel a full order, look at the bottom of the screen for the “Cancel Order” option. When selected, the system will prompt you to enter a cancellation reason before completing the action.
