Both of these features are important in day-to-day business operations.
Tips allow customers to appreciate and reward staff for the service they provide, while advances are useful in situations where a customer pays part of the bill upfront.
Note that tips can only be managed from the payment page, whereas advances can be managed from both the order page and the payment page.
Managing tips:
In order to manage tips from the Operator application, follow the steps below:
Start by creating an order on the Grafterr Operator application and then proceed to the payment stage by clicking on “Pay”.
On the right-hand side of the payment screen, you will notice the option called “Add Tip”. When you click on this option, a pop-up will appear where you can enter the tip amount.
Once you type in the amount and confirm by clicking “Add”, the tip will automatically be added to the total bill.
The system also gives you flexibility if the customer changes their mind or wants to adjust the tip. For example, if the tip needs to be increased, reduced, or even removed, you simply need to click on “Add Tip” again, edit the amount, and save it.
The updated tip will reflect immediately in the total bill. This ensures that tips are always handled in a transparent and error-free manner.
Managing advances:
In order to manage advances from the Operator application, follow the steps below:
Unlike tips, advances can be managed from both the order page and the payment page. This makes it easy for operators to record the advance at different stages of the order. At the bottom of either of these screens, you will find the “Add Advance” option.
Clicking on it opens a pop-up where you can record the advance payment. The system allows you to specify whether the advance was taken in cash or by card.
If you choose the card option, please note that it will not connect to the payment terminal, it only records that the payment was made through card mode.
After selecting the mode of payment, enter the amount received as advance and click on “Add”. The recorded advance will then appear clearly on both the order page and the payment page for reference.
Just like tips, advances can also be modified later if needed. If the amount collected changes - for example, if a customer pays an additional advance or reduces it, you can open the same “Add Advance” option again, edit the amount, and save it.
The updated advance will be shown in the system, ensuring the order details remain accurate.
That’s it! You have successfully learned how to manage tips and advances taken through the Grafterr Operator application. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
