How to manage cash drawer settings

A step-by-step guide to managing cash drawer settings within the Grafterr Operator application

Updated over a month ago

The cash drawer settings define the condition under which the cash drawer opens during ordering. When processing an order on the payment page, there are two types of transactions available - cash and card.

  • Each transaction type follows the same sequence where the operator first clicks on 'Pay' and then on 'Finish' to complete the payment.

  • By configuring the cash drawer settings, you can decide whether the cash drawer should open at the moment the operator clicks “Pay”, or only after they click “Finish”.

  • For example, if the condition is set to “Pay” for cash transactions, the drawer will immediately open once the pay button is pressed.

  • Here, you can define the drawer opening condition separately for both cash and card transactions, selecting whether it should open on “Pay” or “Finish”.

  • Cash drawer settings - cash transactions

  • Cash drawer settings - card transactions

    • For card transactions, there is also an option called “Don't open”, which ensures that the drawer does not open at all when the customer pays by card.

  • Once you have saved your preferences, place a test order and try completing a transaction - clicking on pay or finish will open the drawer as per your selected condition.

  • Look at the below image for real time image reference on clicking on “Finish” post payment.
