How to manage application appearance and subcategory themes

A step-by-step guide to managing application appearance and subcategory themes in the Grafterr Operator application

Updated over a month ago

The application appearance and subcategories themes settings in the operator application allow you to customise how the items and subcategories are displayed on the screen.

  • While these options do not affect the functionality of the application, they make a big difference in how easy it is for your staff to navigate the system and how quickly they can process orders.

Managing application appearance:

In order to manage the appearance settings through the Operator application, follow the steps below:

  • Log in to the Grafterr Operator application. From the main screen, navigate to “Extras” at the bottom left. Scroll down and select “Settings”. When you open the general settings page, the very first option you will see is “Appearance”.

  • The appearance setting controls how items are displayed on the order screen. There are four options available:

    • "No Images" – items are displayed as plain text without any images.

    • "Images" – items are shown with their respective images alongside text.

    • "No price" – items are displayed without showing prices.

    • "Labels" – items can be displayed with labels or short names instead of original titles. This feature can be used to give menu items a second name in a different language, for example, Mandarin.

Each option serves a purpose. Depending on your business needs, you can switch between these appearance options to get the most suitable layout for your operations.

Managing subcategories themes:

Next, we have subcategories themes, which control how subcategories within your menu are displayed. There are three theme options:

  • “Default” – the system shows subcategories in the standard view, which is straightforward and easy to navigate.

  • “Multi-Line” – subcategories are shown in a multi-line layout, giving a more compact view that can be helpful when dealing with long menus.

  • “Multi-Level” – subcategories are displayed in multiple levels, allowing better organization.

By experimenting with these appearance and theme settings, you can decide which layout works best for your restaurant’s workflow. Once you adjust these settings, the changes will immediately reflect on the operator screen, allowing your staff to start working with the new layout right away.

That’s it! You have successfully learned how to manage application appearance and subcategory themes through the Grafterr Operator application. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
