Grafterr POS offers multiple payment options to suit different business needs and customer preferences. There are four main types of payment methods available:
Cash,
Card,
Payment links (Email & SMS), and
Tap on Phone.
Each method can be enabled or disabled based on how your business operates, giving you flexibility in handling payments both in-store and remotely.
Setting up your payment methods:
In order to set up your payment methods in Grafterr POS, follow the steps below:
Open the Grafterr POS application and log in with your credentials. Once you are logged in, you will land on the home page of the application.
Scroll down to locate the module called “App settings”. Under this module, click on “Payment methods”. This section displays a list of all available payment methods. You can toggle ON or OFF the payment methods based on your business requirements.
By default, "Cash" does not requires any enabling. It acts as the default payment method.
To accept card payments, toggle ON the "Card" payment option. Initially, the system will indicate that no card reader is connected. Next to this, you will find a “Search here” option - click on it to navigate to the card reader connection screen.
On the connection screen, all available card readers will be displayed along with their serial numbers, making it easy to identify the correct device.
For this guide, we are using the Wisepad 3 card reader. Ensure the card reader is adequately charged before proceeding.
Click on “Connect”, and a pairing code will appear both on the card reader and within the Grafterr POS application. Accept the pairing on both devices to complete the setup.
Once connected, the card reader status will be visible in the application. You can disconnect it at any time by clicking “Disconnect”.
During order payment, simply select the card option on the payment screen, and the transaction amount will automatically reflect on the card reader.
Grafterr POS also supports payment links via "Email" and "SMS", which are ideal for remote or contactless payments. Toggle ON both the payment link options to enable those features.
When processing a payment, select “Pay by link” on the payment screen. A popup will appear allowing you to choose between email or SMS.
If email is selected, enter the customer’s email address and a secure payment link will be sent.
If SMS is selected, enter the customer’s mobile number to send the payment link via text message.
Once the customer completes the payment, the transaction can be finalized in the POS.
The "Tap on Phone" feature allows you to accept contactless card payments directly on a compatible mobile device. To use this feature, ensure that your mobile device supports NFC (Near Field Communication) and that NFC is enabled in the device settings.
Once enabled in the payment methods, you may see a message indicating that the NFC module is not initialized. Click on “Initialize now” to complete the setup.
After initialization, your mobile device is ready to accept payments using tap on phone. During checkout, select "Tap on phone" on the payment screen, and the payment amount will be displayed on the mobile device for the customer to tap their card or phone.
The application also allows you to set a "Primary payment method", either card reader or tap on phone. Note that only one of these can be active at a time - connecting one will automatically disconnect the other.
On the payment screen, a green indicator will appear next to the payment method that is currently set as the primary option.
