A query deal is a smart upselling feature that works with individual menu items. Think of it as a helpful suggestion system - when a customer selects a base item (like a burger), a pop-up question appears asking if they would like to add a meal to go with it. If they say yes, additional items can be added to their order based on their choice.
Adding a query deal through the Grafterr POS application:
In order to add a query deal through the Grafterr POS application, follow the steps below:
Open the Grafterr POS application and log in with your credentials. Once you are logged in, you will land on the home page of the application.
Scroll down to locate the module called “Menu management”. Under this module, click on “Add/Edit menu”. Here, you will see a list of all your existing menus, along with their categories, items, and prices.
At the bottom of the screen, find and tap on “More options”. Under more options, in the “Deals” section, click on “Query deal”. You will now be redirected to the query deals page, where all existing query deals are listed along with their status, combinations, and options to edit or delete them. You can also use filters at the top of the screen (by category) to search for specific deals.
To create a new query deal, tap on the “Add query meal” button at the bottom of the screen. Start by uploading an image for the query deal using the camera or gallery and enter the query meal name (e.g., “Sweet snack,” or “Sunday deal,” etc.).
Next choose the "Select item (Base item)" - this is the menu item that will trigger the meal question. For example, if you choose "Bangers and Mash" as your base item, customers will see the query meal option pop-up whenever they select that item. Lastly enter the deal price.
Adding query meal structure - To define what items are included in the deal:
In order to add item combinations to the deal, click on “Add query meal.” Enter the combination title and specify the maximum number of items a customer can select from that list.
Next tap on “Select items & groups.” You will now see a complete list of items. You can toggle ON or OFF the items you want to include in the deal.
If you regularly use the same group of items across different deals, you can create “Item Groups” for convenience.
To create one, tap on “Item Groups”. Click on “Add item group.” Enter the item group name and select the items you want to include. Once created, you can simply select this group instead of adding each item manually in future deals.
After adding combinations or groups, click on “Submit” and then “Add.”
Next choose which services this deal applies to - for example, whether it’s available only for eat-in, takeaway, or delivery. Click “Submit” once selected.
You can also choose when the deal would be available. Pick "All days" if you want it available whenever you're open. Choose "Specific days" to set particular time, dates, or days of the week when the deal should work.
If you want to set different prices for different services - click on “Servicewise Pricing.” Enable the toggle “Add service wise prices for this item.” Enter different prices for eat-in, takeaway, and delivery services.
You can enter a Deal Number (used for sorting and ordering) and a Label (a short display name for quick identification).
And once all the details are entered and reviewed: Click on “Add” to save the meal deal. The newly created query deal will now appear in your list of active deals.
If you need to modify an existing deal, simply click the “Edit” icon beside it. To deactivate a deal, tap on the “Active” toggle - this will mark the deal as inactive.
You can also use the “Show in Deals” toggle to decide whether this query deal should appear in the online ordering section under “Deals.”
