Tax settings allow you to configure how taxes are applied on all your menu items. You can set tax rates, enable or disable taxes (if there are multiple) for specific items, and ensure that billing and reports reflect accurate tax calculations.
Navigating to and creating tax settings:
In order to navigate to your tax settings and create a new one from the Grafterr Admin Panel, follow the steps below:
Login to your Grafterr Admin Panel through the Grafterr website. Once you are logged into the Admin Panel, look at the menu on the left side of the screen. Scroll down until you find the option called “Mandatory Settings.”
Under this section, you’ll see an option called “Tax.” Click on it and you’ll be taken to a screen where you can view existing tax settings and also add a new tax setting.
To create a new tax, click on “Add a new tax setting” at the bottom of the screen. Then, fill in the required details: the tax name, your registration number (if you have one), and the tax percentage.
Next there are two main types of tax:
“Included tax” – The item’s price already contains the tax.
“Excluded tax” – The tax is added on top of the item’s price.
See a toggle for “Is this tax included in the menu price?”
Turn this ON if you want the tax amount to be already included in the items displayed price. For this example, we’ll keep the tax in the excluded state so it’s shown separately from the item price when we test it.
Lastly, decide whether this tax will apply to all items or specific menus, categories, or items only.
Once you are all set, click on “Save”. After saving, you’ll see the newly created tax settings listed on your screen, ready to be applied to your menu items. You can also edit or delete those taxes.
Refreshing the Operator application and testing the changes:
The final step is to refresh your Operator application to see the updates working.
Open the Grafterr Operator application, go to the “Extras”, and scroll down to find "Refresh App."
Post refresh, select the items to which the newly created tax option is applied and proceed with the order. On the payment page, you will see the tax amount displayed along with the item price.
That’s it! You’ve successfully learnt how to create and manage tax settings through the Grafterr Admin Panel. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
