Baggage charges are usually fees applied for bags along with the items they contain. You can set up different baggage charges for different service types, allowing flexibility depending on the type of order or delivery.
Navigating to baggage charges:
In order to navigate to baggage charges, follow the steps below:
Login to your Grafterr Admin Panel through the Grafterr website. Once you are logged into the Admin Panel, look at the menu on the left side of the screen. Scroll down until you find the option called “Advanced Settings.”
Under this section, you’ll see an option called “Baggage Charges.” Click on it to open the settings where you can manage carrier bag charges for three different platforms:
Grafterr POS
Online Ordering, and
QR Ordering
Each platform allows you to control baggage charges individually. Let’s take Grafterr POS as an example. When you expand the section for POS Carrier Bag Charges, you will see 4 options: No charge, Per bag, Per order & Select printer.
Selecting "No charge" means customers will not be charged anything.
If you choose "Per bag", you can enter a fixed amount to charge for each bag.
The "Per order" option gives you more flexibility - you can either set a flat amount to be added to each order or apply a percentage based charge, such as 5% of the order total.
Finally, the "Select printer" option is used to assign the charges to a specific kitchen, so the charges are printed correctly.
You will also notice an option to make baggage charges taxable. If you want to apply tax, simply click on “Selected” and toggle on the tax. Choose the appropriate tax from the list you have already created and we are good to go with tax.
Note that the process is same for all three platforms, but there is one main difference to keep in mind. For Online Ordering and QR Ordering, you can only select between 'No charge' and 'Per bag' options. The 'Per order' and 'Select printer' options are only available for the POS platform.
Once you have reviewed and entered all your baggage charge settings for each platform, scroll to the bottom and click “Save.” This will make sure all your changes are applied and active in the Operator application.
Refreshing the Operator application and testing the changes
The final step is to refresh your Operator application to see it working:
Open the Grafterr Operator application, go to the “Extras”, and scroll down to find "Refresh App." Then select the service and test it to make sure everything works well.
When an order is being placed through the Operator application, any baggage charges will automatically appear as soon as the service type is selected.
If the user has the permissions, they will also have the option to edit or remove the baggage charge for that specific order, based on the situation or customer request.
That’s it! You have now successfully learnt to create baggage charges through the Grafterr Admin Panel. If you face any issues along the way, feel free to reach out to our support team.
